Chapter 13: System Update
Returning to the inn, Nor locked the door and sat down on the bed.
— Finally… I can do this now… — he muttered quietly.
— Status.
The moment the word left his mouth, translucent text appeared before his eyes.
Status:
Name: Nor Verner

Battle Power: 93,217,600

Shop Map Inventory
Nor carefully began reading through the status, checking whether anything had changed.
He had already noticed that instead of individual stats and mana, there was now only a single category:
Battle Power.
And just as he expected… he had one too.
But the moment he saw the number, his body trembled slightly.
The battle power of the emperors he had seen earlier immediately appeared in his mind.
They only had around three to four hundred thousand…
— And mine says ninety-three million… — Nor muttered blankly.
For a brief moment, a smug thought appeared in his head.
Does this mean I'm the strongest?..
But the thought vanished almost instantly as a memory suddenly resurfaced.
— Grandpa! I managed to leave a mark on the tree with my punch, and I'm only thirteen! I'm a genius! — young Nor had shouted proudly.
But the moment he turned around to see his grandfather's reaction—
THUD!
A stick instantly smacked him across the head.
— I'll show you “genius”! I'm about to beat the crap out of you, you little brat!
Right after that, Nor started running while his grandfather chased him around and kept hitting him over the head with the stick.
— …And why did he have to hit me that hard… — Nor muttered while rubbing his head instinctively.
The memory quickly destroyed any unnecessary arrogance he had started developing.
His gaze slowly moved downward.
Shop.
Nor's eyes immediately lit up with excitement.
He instantly opened it.
SHOP
Additional Points: 2,734,162
Regular Bread — 1 Point
Water — 1 Point
Apple — 1 Point
Without reading any further, Nor immediately decided to try buying something.
He focused on the bread mentally.
A message appeared in front of him.
Purchase Regular Bread for 1 Point?
— …Yes.
The number of points decreased by one.
But there was no bread anywhere.
— What?.. Where's my bread?! — Nor muttered in confusion.
He quickly searched around the room but found absolutely nothing.
— Damn… Did something go wrong?..
He bought another loaf.
But once again, nothing happened.
The points disappeared.
The bread didn't appear.
— What the hell is thi—
Before he could finish speaking, his eyes suddenly landed on the word Inventory in his status window.
— Right… How did I forget to check that too?..
The moment Nor thought about the inventory, he suddenly felt an enormous space.
He couldn't see it.
He couldn't touch it.
But he could clearly feel that it existed somewhere nearby.
— How is this even possible?.. — Nor whispered quietly.
He had never experienced anything like this before.
Then he thought about the bread.
And in the next second, two warm loaves of freshly baked bread appeared in his hands.
— This is unreal… — Nor said while staring at the bread as if it were the greatest treasure in the world.
He took a bite from the crust before placing both loaves back into the inventory.
After opening the space once, he instinctively understood how to use it, almost as if it had always been part of him.
— What else is in here?..
Nor continued browsing through the shop.
Common Healing Potion — 15 Points
Heals light wounds.
Common Mana Potion — 10 Points
Partially restores mana.
— Whoa… There are even potions in here… — Nor thought while continuing to scroll.
Common Space Ring — 200 Points
A small storage space for items.
— Wow… Though honestly, with the inventory, I probably don't even need this…
Common Breakthrough Pill — 500 Points
Increases the chance of making a breakthrough.
Rare Mana Heart Elixir — 1,500 Points
Temporarily increases mana absorption speed.
The further Nor scrolled through the shop, the more shocked he became.
Not only because of the items themselves…
But because he could actually afford almost all of them.
— I'm literally rich… — he thought proudly.
Epic Regeneration Elixir — 15,000 Points
Allows lost limbs to regenerate.
— Even something like this exists?! This is basically a miracle! — Nor exclaimed while reading the description carefully.
At that point, he became curious about the very end of the shop.
He stopped reading the items properly and simply started rapidly scrolling through page after page.
A few minutes later, something suddenly caught his attention.
Legendary Combat Trial Dimension — 2,500,000 Points
Creates a separate dimension where the user can fight at full power without destroying the real world.
Inside, the space has almost no limitations.
— …What the hell? They're literally selling entire dimensions…
Nor froze for a second.
— Maybe I should buy one…
But the moment he saw the price, he nearly fell off the bed.
— HOW MUCH DOES THIS THING COST?!
Nor stared at the number in horror for several more seconds.
— Yeah… forget it. I'm never buying that… — he muttered.
After calming down slightly, Nor closed the shop.
— Alright… I think I more or less understand the shop now… There was also a map, right?..
After leaving the shop, Nor thought about the map.
And instantly, it appeared before his eyes.
— Whoa… no way…
Nor stared at the map in amazement.
Almost all of it was covered in gray fog and looked blurry.
But the places Nor had personally visited were displayed perfectly.
He also noticed a red marker showing his current location.
And below it, another line appeared.
Available Markers: 5/5
— Cool… — Nor muttered quietly.
He accidentally zoomed the map in and immediately froze.
The level of detail was insane.
— …It even shows my house… And the trees I destroyed…
